I'm Fern!
I’m an abstract artist based in Melbourne, Australia. My studio is currently located in Malvern East.
I grew up in a small regional town in Victoria, where my passion for earth, the flow of nature and all things colour began. My abstractions are best known to be layered and flowing, full of fluidity and movement.
a little more about me
I trained as a graphic designer (BA.Communication Design), and I worked in this field for several years. Fast forward to now and I am living my dream life of full-time artist. Yippee!
Although - let’s just say my fashion sense has gone from much less corporate, to more of a paint-covered, paint in my hair, paint on my feet, oh dear, I’ve got paint everywhere, sort of vibe(ha! ahhh!). But, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m so grateful to be painting my life away for art loving customers whether they are buying their first piece of art or coming back for more. And a bonus - working for myself I get to have lots of snuggles throughout the day with my one true love and studio assistant(albeit a lazy one!), Goldie, my Cavalier pup.

What's your style?
My style is sort of my personality in a way. A bit of this and a bit of that. I paint with a bit of everything under the sun these days. I have developed many different series and I’m proud to continue to explore and grow with the support of my art loving community. The one constant throughout my works across all mediums, is the movement, flow, use of gold(of course!), balance and colour.
What inspires you?
Anything and everything. I am heavily inspired by the powerful force that is mother nature - the earth’s elements.
